As part of Irish news company Journal Media, The Journal FactCheck needed a dedicated platform to make fact-checking more transparent and accessible. The brief was to design a website that could house recent fact checks and provide step-by-step tutorials on how readers can fact-check for themselves — all in an engaging, easy-to-navigate format. The design approach focused on clarity and trust, with a clean layout, intuitive categorisation, and bold visual cues that guide users to credible information quickly. The result is a platform that not only strengthens The Journal’s fact-checking mission but also empowers the public to think critically and verify information in the digital age. It fosters reader empowerment through digestible tutorials and accessible resources. I led the design of the website, alongside the Journal’s digital director Niall O’Shea. The website was developed by Jordan Huysmans.
